About
Being a Safety Supporter is about much more than walking around with a glowing wristband. This course approaches play party safety through the lens of human factors—the science of how ordinary people make decisions in complex, emotionally charged, and uncertain environments. Drawing from high-risk industries such as healthcare, scuba diving, aviation, and emergency response, we'll explore how organizations create safer systems, build stronger safety cultures, and learn from mistakes without relying solely on rules or punishment. Unlike many Guardian trainings, this course is not primarily about memorizing policies or policing behavior. Instead, you'll learn how to think about safety. We'll also discuss practical situations you'll actually encounter as a Safety Supporter—from hard cruising and intoxication to advanced kink scenes, medical concerns, conflict resolution, and supporting guests through difficult moments. This training assumes you're already familiar with the basics of consent and play party culture. Rather than teaching what the rules are, we'll focus on why people make the decisions they do—and how thoughtful systems, good leadership, and a culture of learning can help ordinary people succeed, even under less-than-ideal conditions. By the end of this course, you'll have a new framework for understanding safety in the play community. ** If the course cost is a barrier to entry, you can email nix@sirenatrix.pro to work out a Pay-What-You-Can option.
